Top Virtual Conference for 2020 (Since Coronavirus is Shutting Things Down)
Anyone else afraid to open their inbox for fear of another cancelation notice?
Fear not, there are plenty of ways you can both connect with peers and expand your knowledge of the latest industry, leadership, and business trends. Some of those awesome conferences you’d registered to attend are going online while others were always planning to speak from the cloud.
Here are some of our favorites.
COLLISIONOne event that adeptly shifted from IRL to “from your laptop” is Collision. Collision is a global favorite of entrepreneurs not only because of their incredible speakers but also because they believe in building community and daring to be on the edge of everything cool. They’ve changed to “Collision At Home” but their speakers remain unchanged: Mayors, CEOs, Founders, and entrepreneurial heroes make up the more than 250 speakers! 250! There is clearly something to inspire everyone during this 4-day June event.
SMWIf social and digital marketing is your focus, then you’ll be thrilled that two incredible conferences have joined forces and are going virtual. #SMWNYC & #SMWLA have merged into #SMWONE with more than 300 speakers across 150 sessions. They are going out of their way to create extensive digital networking opportunities realizing that a driver of going to conferences is the networking (unless you are an introvert - then this is your dream realized!). The reimagined event kicks off May 5th and organizers not only want to share kick-butt content, but also prove the merits of social and digital marketing.
TECHCRUNCHTechCrunch Disrupt is slated for September in San Francisco and organizers have deftly created a “Disrupt Digital Pass” to allow a virtual audience a front-row seat to some of the most sought-after speakers, leaders, and yes, disrupters. If you’re in tech then you’ll want to register - heck, maybe you’ll be able to travel by then! SF in the fall is fabulous, but then so is ordering-in from home. Decisions, decisions.
TEDOf course, TED is available 24/7/365 whenever you need a mental boost or jolt of motivation. Their TEDx events are held all over the world, but lucky for us they basically pioneered the online speaker thing so it’s likely that the IRL events will seamlessly shift to virtual. Check out their extensive list of events and be sure to download their app to always have inspired content at the ready.
Now, of course, we will make our way through this pandemic and begin to gather once again. But, who says you can’t attend one of these great virtual conferences in your PJs? Just do it. We won’t tell!
